Dolan, a freshman at the University of Michigan, won the 400-, 800-and 1,500-meter freestyles and set an American record in the 400 individual medley (4:13.52) at the U.S. swim championships. He is the sixth American and the first male since Mark Spitz in 1972 to win four titles in a senior national meet.
Aspen, a senior at East High with a 3.3 academic average, broke the girls' national high school indoor 50-meter-dash record at the Metropolitan Athletics Congress Track and Field Championships with a time of 6.39 seconds. She also holds the 55-meter (6.81) and 50-yard (5.84) indoor marks.
Michael, a sophomore at Marlow High, won the Elite 125-pound division at the AAU National Folkstyle Wrestling Championships by defeating Eric Keller, the reigning Iowa titlist from Indianola High, 5-2. Michael is unbeaten in 73 high school bouts and last year was the 115-pound state champ.
Kevin, a 5'5�" seventh-grader on the Metropolis Junior High basketball team, scored a school-record 43 points, 24 of them on three-pointers, to lead the Trojans to a 67-63 victory over Anna Junior High. He averaged 19 points a game for the Trojans, who finished the season 10-2.
Lefever, 47, a nurse midwife, became the first American woman to reach the summit of the highest peak on each of the seven continents by ascending Australia's Mount Kosciusko. In 1986 she scaled Mount Aconcagua in Argentina to begin the quest. Lefever has also skied the 1,200-mile Iditarod Trail.
Jaret, a senior at Katella High, pitched a no-hitter, striking out 11 batters, and hit two home runs in a 7-1 romp over Laguna Hills High. Through 15 games he was batting .500 with four homers and 17 RBIs. On the mound Jaret, who has a 94-mph fastball, was 3-1 with 51 strikeouts in 39 innings.
