Thanks for the fabulous swimsuit issue. At least the most beautiful women on the planet didn't go on strike.STEVEN M. THOMAS, KNOXVILLE, TENN.

We strongly object to your swimsuit issue. Because our students are interested and involved in various competitive sports, we subscribe to your magazine. This issue appears to contradict the very purpose of your periodical and leads us to question whether we should renew our subscription for next year. Your extremely suggestive swimsuit edition not only degrades and belittles women, but it also offers senseless obscene matter to the reader. It has no place in our school or any school library.

To all your other letter writers salivating over the skinsuit issue, shame on you.

Demonstrate some acumen, integrity—and muscle: Bag the annual swimsuit issue.
DWIGHT FEE, Santa Barbara, Calif.

All right! This is the issue I've been waiting for! Women and water! The models in the swimsuit issue? No, the crew of America[3]. In stark contrast to the models to be looked at, this team of athletes racing for the America's Cup (A Whole New Tack) is an example of women worth watching.
MARC ACHESON, Berkeley, Calif.
