San Antonio is soaring into the postseason with the most wins, but few observers have much faith in the Spurs' title chances

That puts the pressure on Robinson and power forward Terry Cummings, who, with Johnson, are San Antonio's co-captains. Those three take turns leading the team prayers, but Johnson's have been so entertaining that the Spurs have gotten spoiled. Even Cummings, an ordained Pentecostal minister, is hard-pressed to keep up. It's not surprising, then, that when Robinson came up with a run-of-the-mill prayer recently, his teammates told him to lose the weak stuff. "David never thought he'd have to do homework just to lead the prayer." says Rivers. "But we expect a lot around here these days." A lot has always been expected of the Spurs. This year, they might be ready to deliver.
