Technically UConn is the fifth women's basketball team to win a Division I national championship with a perfect record, not the second, as you wrote. Before the NCAA began governing women's sports, in the fall of 1981, three teams won the national title of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women with unblemished records: Immaculata in 1972-73, Delta State in 1974-75 and Louisiana Tech in 1980-81.
