Kansas State 30, Missouri 0
The Wildcat defense extended its scoreless streak to 12 quarters, and in that time Kansas State has outscored the opposition 147-0. But Missouri coach Larry Smith and his players were less interested in the defensive performance of the Wildcats than in what they believed was Kansas State's offensive behavior.
Turns out that Missouri—and tell us if you haven't heard this one before—was steamed that Kansas State quarterback Matt Miller threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brian Lojka with 1:46 left to play and the Wildcats ahead 23-0. After the game the Tigers left the field without shaking hands with the Wildcats. "They were pointing their fingers, saying this and that, and I told them where they could take their national ranking and shove it," said Missouri sophomore cornerback Shad Criss afterward. "They're a good team, but we didn't like them running up the score to keep their ranking up."
