Jeremy Royal

Jill and Jeremy, both seniors, won High School Heisman Trophies, which were presented at the Downtown Athletic Club in New York City the day before the college football award of the same name. Aholt was most valuable player for Linn High's girls' basketball, softball, cross-country and track and field teams, was all-state in track and field, and set five school records in two sports. Jeremy was an all-state tennis and all-city soccer player and was most valuable player on the Altamont School's basketball and tennis teams for three consecutive years. Both Jill and Jeremy are three-time class presidents and A students.

Andrew Amway
LANCASTER, PA.
Amway, 57, broke the national record for career victories by a high school coach when his Hempfield High girls' swim team beat West Chester East High 115-71 for his 1,218th win. Amway, who has coached cross-country and tennis as well as swimming, was 1,219-214-3 through last weekend.

Winters Patterson
SAN FRANCISCO
Winters, a 5'11" senior guard on the Balboa High basketball team, scored a northern California record 82 points in a 126-103 win against Oakland Skyline High. He was 33 for 36 from the field and hit seven three-pointers for the Buccaneers, who were 4-0 through last weekend.

Anik Valiengo
S�O PAULO, BRAZIL
Valiengo, a senior setter on the BYU-Hawaii women's volleyball team, was named NAIA player of the year. She was an NAIA All-America outside hitter for the Seasiders in 1992 and '93, then took a year off for the birth of her first child. She led BYU-Hawaii to NAIA titles in each of her four years.

Ben Wessenyeleh
ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA
Ben, a freshman on the Tilton (N.H) School cross-country team, was undefeated in eight races this season. In his first high school event he broke Tilton's school record of 16:12 over a 2.9-mile course by 21 seconds. He went on to win the Northeast regional high school championship.
