Down with the DH
The attempt by Eddie Murray of the Cleveland Indians to reach 500 homers (INSIDE BASEBALL, July 8) is less a tribute to durability than it is to the DH. You report that there's still hope that the DH will die. Here's hoping.

Managing Arizona
Not only is Buck Showalter of the 1998 expansion Arizona Diamondbacks a terrific baseball manager (One Lucky Buck, July 1), but he's also a pretty good basketball referee at the college level. He was a ref at several Pensacola Christian games in the early '90s before making it big in the Big Apple with the Yankees.
