No player has carried the ball as much in his first 10 seasons of college and pro football as Emmitt Smith (above), who played three years at Florida before being taken in the first round of the 1990 NFL draft by the Cowboys. SI compared Smith's numbers with those of the NFL's top five rushers of all time (postseason included) and found that three of the five had productive years after their 10th season.
