Jason Flint, Tillsonburg, Ont.
Flint, a senior at TCU, beat Jeff Livingston of Texas by 4.69 seconds to finish his four-year career undefeated in 30 dual-meet 200-yard breaststroke races. He swam an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:01.23 against the Longhorns and has the seventh best time in Division I in his event.
Krissy Wendell, Brooklyn Park, Minn.
Krissy, a junior defenseman at Park Center High, ended the season with 109 goals and 40 assists in 25 games to lead the Pirates to a sectional title and the girls' state consolation-bracket championship. She tied state-tournament records for goals in a game (six) and total points (11).
Darrell Smith, Columbus, Ohio
Smith, a senior forward at Bartlesville ( Okla.) Wesleyan, led the NAIA's Division II in scoring through last Thursday with a 37.8-point average. His 1,095 points this season included a career-high 56 points in a 108-103 defeat of Bellevue (Neb.) University.
Jeff Foster, Edinboro, Pa.
Foster, 42, won the men's division of the 50-mile Dallas ultramarathon with a time of 6:00:25. His wife, Mariann, 29, won the women's division in 7:12:35, making the Fosters the first husband-and-wife team to take both titles at the event.
Doug Grigar, East Bernard, Texas
Grigar, a senior catcher-DH for Trinity University in San Antonio, hit three homers in his first three swings of the season and had seven RBIs in a 7-2 defeat of the University of Dallas. Through last Thursday he had an .813 slugging percentage and had led the Tigers to a 6-2 record.
Adam Gudroe, Dexter, Maine
Adam, a senior at Dexter High, won a state high school Class C crown for the third straight year when he pinned Brad Thurlow of Penobscot Valley High in the 130-pound class. He finished his four-year career with a 133-8 record and led the Tigers to their third team title in a row.
