Time will tell. Certainly Palmer didn't. Wayne Gretzky, another one who started with the nickname of the Kid, didn't. A few of them don't. Garcia may never be that great, and he may not stay that humble and likeable. But he's off to a pretty good start, and don't be too shocked if you see him sprinting down some fairway at the Country Club during that most emotional of golfing competitions, the Ryder Cup. That old Brookline track has a lot of blind shots, and the kid, of course, is still young.
