I've never cared much about Stamford, and having spent time with Valentine, I can't even say how much I like him. But roots tunnel deep. I want him to win, and win again, and then I want Bobby V to walk away from New York. He is the local hero, you see. And in the best baseball stories, the hero always heads for home.
