Phil Mickelson, who had won at least one tournament every year during his first six seasons on Tour, was conspicuous by his absence at the Mercedes Championships. If Mickelson, who turns 30 on June 16, intends to keep up with such players as Tiger Woods, David Duval and Ernie Els, he's going to have to dedicate himself to excellence, as they have.
