What made Furyk think he could birdie five of the last seven holes, shoot a 30 on the final nine and come from six shots back to catch runner-up Franklin Langham? Something he saw earlier this season when he was paired with Tiger Woods during the final round at Pebble Beach. "Standing on the 15th tee," said Furyk, "if you had told me Tiger was going to win [he made up seven shots on Matt Gogel], I would have laughed at you."...

The field's average at the new Blue Monster was 71.15, or .68 of a stroke lower than last year's....
