Pulling His Weight
Halil Mutlu, the Turkish delight of weightlifting, staged one of the sport's most remarkable performances last Saturday when he broke three world records—in the snatch, the clean-and-jerk and total weight—en route to Olympic gold in the 123-pound class. With his lift of 369.27 pounds in the clean-and-jerk, the 122.6-pound Mutlu became only the third man to lift three times his weight.
