As much as McSorley loves to Rollerblade for miles along the beach or spend a quiet evening with Schuster or punish his body at a gym in Hermosa, he's still the farm boy from Hamilton, Ont., who played his first games on a frozen canal and who would give anything for a few more NHL shifts. "I'd love to play again," he says, "but if I can't, I'll go on. I believe that my peers and the people in the game understand what happened that night. What anyone else thinks, I can't control."
