Bowling
Straub, 50, the women's and men's coach at Nebraska, guided the women Cornhuskers to a 4-1 defeat of Arizona State for their fifth national title in the past 10 years. Straub, who has coached both teams for 18 years, guided the men to national crowns in 1990 and '96.

Diana Chin, ORLANDO
Track and Field
Diana, a senior at Oak Ridge High, led the Pioneer girls to the Class 3A District 7 and Region 2 titles when she won the long jump, the triple jump and the 100-meter hurdles two weeks in a row. She also won the hurdles at the state meet as Oak Ridge finished second in the team competition.

Keith Cromwell, HICKSVILLE, N.Y.
Lacrosse
Cromwell, a senior attackman at Rutgers, set a Scarlet Knights career goals record of 145 with the game-tying and-winning scores in Rutgers's 12-11 defeat of SUNY-Stony Brook. Cromwell, who ended the year with 152 goals, also holds the Knights' mark for career points (266).

Katie Schwegmann, ALEXANDRIA, KY.
Basketball
Katie, a senior guard at Bishop Brossart High, was named Kentucky's Miss Basketball after leading the state's girls in scoring with 25-9 points per game. Katie, who will attend Miami of Ohio on an athletic scholarship, broke her own school single-season record this year with 880 points.

Laura Remia, HEWITT, N.J.
Softball
Remia, a senior first baseman at Ithaca (N.Y.) College, holds the Division III women's career home run record with, as of Sunday, 48. She also led the Empire Eight Conference this season in batting average (.528), hits (62), triples (6), homers (12) and runs batted in (55).

Stephen Abas, HAYWARD, CALIF.
Wrestling
Abas, a junior at Fresno State, won his second NCAA crown in the 125-pound division with a 13-10 decision over Jody Strittmatter of Iowa in the final bout. He was the first Bulldog to go undefeated in a season, and his .984 career winning percentage is the best ever at Fresno State.
