High school junior Ty Tryon, 17, who finished 37th, has a 69.63 scoring average in two Tour events this year.

Jones birdied the 72nd hole to win the Big Apple Classic by a stroke over Laura Diaz at Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y. Jones, who has also won the Corning Classic (1996 and '97) and the Rochester International (1991 and '98), is the first player to take all three LPGA events in New York.
