That's a shame because the most memorable races invariably take place at short tracks like the quaint Bristol, where drivers safely bang away at one another, and at superspeedways, which allow cars to fly at full throttle. "There's nothing wrong with mile-and-a-half tracks," says Winston Cup veteran Jeremy Mayfield. "We don't need to run 38 races on them, though."
