Florida defensive end Clint Mitchell committed a fairly blatant face-masking infraction when he tackled Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler during the Gators' 21-17 win in Nashville on Saturday. The penalty was called, and Cutler—remarkably unscathed—remained in the game.

Purple Haze
Valerie Mahfood couldn't have been thinking too clearly after getting tagged by a right hand from Laila Ali during their super middleweight unification bout last Friday in Las Vegas. Ali won on a TKO in Round 8.
