Brooks Kieschnick, 30, is trying to make the Brewers as an outfielder and a pitcher. How's he doing? SI's Kieschometer tells all.
After throwing a scoreless inning in his mound debut, Kieschnick gave up a run in two innings in his next outing. (The Brewers lost 14-8 that day, so allowing only one run practically made Kieschnick the staff ace.) At the plate he's 1 for 2 with a line-drive single. With first cuts not expected until early next week, the team is looking harder at his arm than at his bat. "He's doing just fine," says manager Ned Yost. "He's right on schedule."
