Shaun Micheel, playing the 72nd hole of the PGA Championship with a one-shot lead on Sunday, was 175 yards from the pin when he hit this seven-iron approach. The ball came to rest two inches from the hole (inset), and Micheel tapped in for birdie and his first Tour victory (page 42).

Mourners pay tribute to Herb Brooks as pallbearers carry his casket through a gantlet of hockey sticks after his funeral in St. Paul last Saturday. Brooks, the coach of the Miracle on Ice team in the 1980 Olympics, was killed in a car accident on Aug. 11.
