Oregon State RB STEVEN JACKSON The son of a Las Vegas casino manager, Jackson isn't on many Heisman watch lists yet, but don't bet against him. The 6'3", 229-pound junior, who has the speed to break away in the open field and the strength to run over defenders, is ranked second in the nation in rushing (146.2 yards a game) and has gone over 100 yards in 11 consecutive regular-season games. Cal cornerback Daymeion Hughes watched Jackson burn the Bears for 227 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-21 Oregon State win on Oct. 4, and Hughes cast his vote.
