Martin, 52, a real estate broker, lowered her own United States Masters record for the 1,500 meters (50-54 age group) with a time of 4:57.7 at the Long Island Championships. She was Running Times magazine's top performer in her age group for 2003.

Michael Sutton, WEAVER, ALA.
Wrestling
Michael, a senior at Weaver High, became the Alabama High School Athletic Association's first six-time wrestling champion when he won the 135-pound Class 4A-1A title. While at Weaver he had 201 straight victories and 245 overall, both AHSAA records.

Cait McMahan, MARYVILLE, TENN.
Basketball
Cait, a sophomore point guard at Heritage High, scored a school-record 40 points in a 69-64 upset win over Powell, the top-ranked school in Class 3-AAA She also set a three-game tournament record, scoring 90 points at the Kroger Holiday Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

Evan Dufault, SUTTON, MASS.
Soccer
Evan, a senior striker at Sutton High, ended his career with 104 goals and a state-record 114 assists, making him one of four players in Massachusetts history to surpass 200 points. He was named all- New England player of the year.

Sarah Schultz, BENTON, ILL.
Volleyball
Sarah, a senior back row specialist, never missed a serve in her three years at Benton Consolidated High. Last season she completed 1,096 consecutive serves as the team went 30-8-1 and made its second Class A tournament appearance since 2001.

Benny West, DALLAS
Basketball
West, a senior guard at Howard Payne University, scored a school-record 52 points in a victory over Concordia-Austin. He leads the American Southwest Conference in scoring with a 24.7 average and has scored 20 or more points 18 times this season.

Mike and Molly Hayes, ATHERTON, CALIF.
Water Polo
Mike and Molly, twin seniors at Bellarmine College Prep and Saint Francis High, were named San Jose Mercury News water polo players of the year.
