In addition to being the preeminent athlete of his era, Michael Jordan just seemed to never take a bad picture—unless you were a fan of the Jazz or any of the other teams he flushed in the NBA Finals. Jordan's play on the court made him a star, but it's clear that his "print work"—portraits and action shots—helped make him a cultural icon. In that way, as in so many others, Jordan was a leader, moving from jock to celebrity to brand name.
