Like wing-tipped brogues, the trap will always have its place. It can be a useful tool in some situations, including late in the game to protect leads, but hockey fashionistas know that styles change. Only a year after the neutral-zone trap reached its apogee in a seven-game slog between Cup winner New Jersey and Anaheim, forechecking is all the rage. The games have gone from full bores to full bore.
