Baseball
Rogers, a righthander who recently graduated from Mount Ararat High, went 9-1 this season and was the Gatorade national baseball high school player of the year. He was the fifth overall pick in the amateur draft and has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Amber James, WOODBURY, MINN.
Track and Field
James, a graduate of Wheaton, won her third straight 200-meter national title. She also won the 400 meters at the NCAA Division III outdoor championships, becoming the first NCAA runner to sweep a total of eight indoor and outdoor tides at that distance.
Brandon Spillett, LIVERPOOL, N.Y.
Lacrosse
Spillett, a junior attack at Le Moyne College, scored seven goals, including the game-winner, in the NCAA Division II title game, giving the Dolphins their first national championship in any sport. He was named the game's most outstanding player.
Angela Megaw, CASTLETON, VT.
Softball
Megaw, a graduate of Fair Haven Union High, pitched the Slaters to a third straight state Division II title. She ended her high school career with a 59-4 record, 842 strikeouts and a 0.33 ERA. She is a two-time Vermont Gatorade softball player of the year.
Andrew Rock, STRATFORD, WIS.
Track and Field
Rock, a senior at UW-La Crosse, won his second 400-meter title and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team at the NCAA Division III national outdoor championships. He finished his college career with 17 All-America honors and will run at the Olympic trials.
Carolina Ardila, CORAL GABLES, FLA.
Water Polo
Ardila, a graduate of Gulliver Prep, had seven goals and two assists in the state championship match, leading the Raiders to their fourth straight title and 107th straight win. She had a team-high 126 goals this season. Ardila will attend Princeton in the fall.
Gary Vogel, LANCASTER, PA.
Volleyball
Vogel, an opposite who recently graduated from Hempfield High, had a .700 kills percentage in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association boys' championship match, helping the Black Knights to their fourth straight title.
