Too bad, too, because the game was very pleasant. I figure that as this is a sports magazine, you'll want to know the following: The Dodgers won 6-3, the fastest pitch was a world-record 104.7 mph and Walt was beeped four times.
Driving home, I asked Robby how he would compare baseball and basketball, the only other professional sport I've ever taken him to see. He said he liked baseball better because "in basketball you have to throw it all the way up into the net for really no reason."
When we got home, Robby wanted to play baseball, so I got out a bat and ball and gave him some valuable pointers on the lawn. He shows promise. With almost no coaching he figured out which end of the bat you're supposed to hold. The trick is going to be teaching him to keep his eye on the ball.
