DONNA RUPOLO HAWTHORNE, N.J. Donna, a senior pitcher for the Paramus Catholic High softball team, led the Paladins to a 22-2 record and the state Parochial A title. She had a 22-2 record and 0.42 ERA, with 12 shutouts. She will attend Ohio State in the fall.

Donna, a senior pitcher for the Paramus Catholic High softball team, led the Paladins to a 22-2 record and the state Parochial A title. She had a 22-2 record and 0.42 ERA, with 12 shutouts. She will attend Ohio State in the fall.

JOE ROYBAL
SANTA FE, N. MEX.
Roybal, 27, bowled two 800 series in a week at Coronado Bowling Center. A 196-average bowler, he had an 804 in the Ball & Chain League and an 803 in the Sunday Night Leftovers League. The two highest games of the six were 279s.

LAURIE CONWAY
NEW ORLEANS
Laurie, a senior at Isidore Newman High, made all-state in both soccer and volleyball. As a midfielder, she had 30 goals and 14 assists and led the Greenies to the state finals. She helped the team to a 32-4 record as a middle-back.

RICCARDO INGRAM
DOUGLAS, GA.
Ingram, a junior right-fielder for Georgia Tech, hit .426 with 17 homers and 99 RBIs, and was ACC Player of the Year. As a 6-foot, 197-pound safety last fall, he led Tech in tackles (91) and the ACC in punt returns (14.6-yard average).

FAY STEELE
SOMERVILLE, TENN.
Steele, 70, became the oldest man to run from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean in the same day, crossing the 50-mile Isthmus of Panama in 8:47:28. As an Army Air Corps corporal in 1940, Steele was the first to make this run.

MATT GEE
ARKANSAS CITY, KANS.
Matt, 17, a junior at Arkansas City High School, won the javelin event at the state track championships in Wichita with a toss of 243'1", the longest throw in the nation this season by a high school athlete and a state Class 5A record.
