SULLIVAN, MO.
Ward, 83, a retired government worker, ran the 100 meters in 26.0 at the St. Louis Senior Olympics to set a U.S. record for women at least 80 years old. Ward also won the over-80 women's 200, 400 and 1,500 meters and standing long jump.

VERNAL, UTAH
Bilbey, 30, a self-employed oilman, caught a 51-pound, 8-ounce lake trout, the largest fish ever landed in Utah, at the Flaming Gorge Reservoir near Antelope Flat. Bilbey used a braided steel line and a Kwikfish lure.

GLENN ANDRADE
HEALDSBURG, CALIF.
Andrade, a senior at Cal State-Stanislaus, shot a five-over-par 218 to win the individual title and lead the Warriors to a 26-stroke (888-914) victory over Greensboro ( N.C.) College for the NCAA Division III golf crown.

MONIQUE ADAMS
DAPHNE, ALA.
Monique, a recent graduate of McGill-Toolen High, led the Dirty Dozen to their fifth straight Class 6A girls' state volleyball title. During her varsity career, she was chosen all-state three times and in her senior year served 152 aces.

ART SKIPPER
SANDY, ORE.
Art, a recent graduate of Sandy Union High, set a national high school record by throwing the javelin 259'10" at the state Class AAA track and field meet. He broke by one inch the mark held for 17 years by NFL player Russ Francis.
