Brian, 8, a pitcher and first baseman for the Pirates in the Commack South Little League, hit a grand slam in three straight plate appearances to lead his team to a 19-4 triumph over the Yankees. Brian was also the winning pitcher.

CORVALLIS, ORE.
Cisca, a sophomore-to-be at Crescent Valley High, won the state high school girls' tennis title 6-4, 6-2 over Wendi McAlister of North Salem High. She beat two ex-state champs in the tournament and didn't lose a set all season.

JAIR LYNCH
WASHINGTON, D.C.
Jair, 16, won the 16-to-18 age group title at the National Boys Gymnastics Championship, becoming the youngest athlete to achieve the top U.S. ranking in that group. His all-around optionals score of 56.5 was the best ever in this competition.

JAMES PAROBEK
LORAIN, OHIO
Parobek, 59, a lawyer and a 26-handicap golfer, aced the par 4, 293-yard 17th hole at the Maggie Valley ( N.C.) Resort and Country Club course. He used a driver to get his first hole in one while shooting an 18-hole round of 100.

AMY ACUFF
ROBSTOWN, TEXAS
Amy, 13, high-jumped 5'8�" to set a national AAU record in the junior girls' division (age 13 to 14) at a meet in Alice, Texas. As a 10-year-old, she set a national AAU bantam (age 10 and under) girls' record in the long jump.

TODD RIECH
HOT SPRINGS, MONT.
Todd, who will be a senior at Hot Springs High, won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes and the javelin at the state Class C track and field meet. As the Savages' lone entrant, he scored 24 points to win the team title by one point.
