Michael, 16, a junior at Pawling High, won the club championship at the Harlem Valley Golf Course in Wingdale, N.Y. He was the youngest of 16 competitors. He defeated Kevin Duncan, 37, 2 and 1, in the final 36-hole match.
Sarah, 17, led Southeast Girls' Scholastic to a basketball gold medal at the Bay State Games by scoring 40 points in a 73-70 win over Northeast Scholastic. Her three-year total of 1,614 points at Foxboro High is the school record.
Jermaine, 12, won three gold medals in the 11-12 age group at the National Junior Olympics in Gainesville, Fla. He won the 400-meter run (55.94) and the 800 (2:10.94) and, sprinting the second leg, helped win the 4 X 400 relay.
Michelle, 17, a senior at Ontario High, won the junior national girls racquetball title for a second consecutive year and then teamed with Cindy Doyle, 18, of Williamsville, N.Y., to win the junior doubles championship, in Denver.
Gerber, 67, a car dealer and a first baseman for the Murry Old-Timers in the Independent League, hit the first grand slam of his 49-year softball career in an 18-13 win over Weyerhaeuser. In 20 games this season he batted .268, with one homer.
Jenny, 10, won the 100 meters (14.88) and the 200 (30.6) for girls ages 9-10 in the Junior Olympic state finals, and then won the 50 (7.5) and the 100 (14.5) at the state finals of the Hershey National Track and Field Youth Program.
