OFFENSE: Auburn wideout Alexander Wright, a senior who is also a sprinter on the Tigers' track team, caught five passes, four of them for touchdowns (of 78, 60, 41 and 73 yards), in the Tigers' 55-0 rout of Pacific. His 263 yards receiving is an SEC record.

DEFENSE: In Pitt's 29-10 victory over Boston College, the Panthers' Camel Smith, a senior end, returned a fumble by Eagle quarterback Mark Kamphaus 57 yards for a touchdown. Smith later tackled Kamphaus in the end zone for a safety.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Tennessee Tech senior Ryan Weeks equaled the I-AA record for field goals in a half with five after the intermission—he had seven overall—of a 28-10 win over Tennessee- Chattanooga. His four in the third quarter tied the mark for a quarter.
