J. Jerome Miller, 52, of Highland Park, Ill., a member of the U.S. Olympic water polo teams in 1936 and 1948, broke the Chicago Athletic Association's record (the nation's best) for miles swum in one year under its swim program for businessmen with a 666-mile total.

Lauri Ajanto, a dental technician from Helsinki, rolled a strike with his final ball to beat Mexico City's Juan Canelo 181-179 for the International Masters Bowling Championship in Dublin. His prize is an expense-paid trip to the U.S. for the ABC Masters Tourney.

Smoky Drolet, a 13-year veteran racing driver from Miami, drove a Formula Vee ( Volkswagen-powered) car to victory in both five-lap heats to win the KLG International Ladies' Trophy in Nassau for her fourth victory in five years at the Nassau Speed Week.

Dave Pollard, a junior left wing on the Merrimack College ( North Andover, Mass.) hockey team, scored in 18 consecutive games and totaled 28 goals, beginning in early December of 1964. His streak ended in a 5-4 overtime loss to the University of New Hampshire.

Jose Gonzalez, a Harvard sophomore chemistry major from Santurce, P.R., successfully defended his national junior squash racquets championship, defeating Peter Martin of McGill University 10-15, 16-14, 15-11, 15-9 at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.

Jacques Favero, a Montreal salesman, jumped over 16 barrels for a distance of 26 feet 7� inches to take the World Barrel-jumping Championship at Grossinger, N.Y. Defending champion Ken LeBel of Great Neck, N.Y. was second with 16 barrels for 26 feet.
