Urs Buehler, 22, of Switzerland won the Top Male Pilot Award at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association meet in Carbondale, Ill. with a first place in Power Off Precision Landings, as his team, the Flying Billikens of St. Louis U., took team honors.

Kim Oetjen, a determined 13-year-old from Miami, set out to break the Palmetto Junior High sit-up mark of 400 and in 1� hours quit at 1,448 because she started to feel foolish." That afternoon Kim, who also is a competitive swimmer, churned 5,000 yards for practice.

Larry Highbaugh, an Indianapolis Washington High School senior who played on the state basketball championship team in 1965 and was city football high scorer in 1966, broke the 220-yard record (20.5) at the Indiana state track meet in Indianapolis.

Michael Pickens, a 19-year-old rider for the San Diego Bicycle Club, gained an upset victory in the annual Riverside ( California) 100-mile race when he beat Mexico's No. 1 cyclist, Heriberto Diaz of the top-seeded Condor Club, by six yards in the record time of 4:14:26.

Rich Shibley, 21, a Cal State ( L.A.) second baseman who batted .355 this year, broke the NCAA season record of 45 stolen bases when he stole five in one game, four in two others and gained his 47th (in 54 attempts and 44 games) during the last game of the season.

John Bohmann, a Texas Lutheran sophomore from Seguin, Texas, who in three years sank four holes in one at the same hole on his home town course, won the Big State Conference meet in San Antonio, beating Jerry Woods of Texas Wesleyan by six strokes.
