Val Adcock, who took up trapshooting and switched to left-handed shooting 1� years ago, became the second woman to win the Georgia state handicap championship. Miss Adcock won by three birds in a shoot-off with a fellow Atlantan, Ray Giles.

Terry Wedgewood of Evansville, Ind., third baseman for Purdue, led the Big Ten in hitting (.467) and RBIs (19) and tied for most home runs (6). He also set a conference record for total bases (54) and tied the existing record for number of hits (28) set by Harvey Kuenn.

Sidney B. Brown of Longview, Texas scored two holes in one during the same round while playing the Alpine Golf Club in Long-view. He aced the 100-yard second hole and the 105-yard fourth, using a wedge for both shots. His score for the first nine was 37.

Barby Gibson, a senior at Swarthmore College playing left attack wing, scored 24 of her team's 53 goals in lacrosse this season—more than three goals a game. It was her fourth year of Swarthmore women's lacrosse and of basketball and field hockey as well.

David Eary, 15-year-old first baseman and pitcher in the Tuckahoe Little League Senior Division in Virginia, hit two grand-slam home runs in one inning to spark the Phillies to an 18-9 victory. Eary went 4 for 5 in the game and hit the homers 275 and 300 feet.

Bev Buckley, 18, Of Des Moines, won her third straight Iowa high school girls' tennis championship. On the way to 51 consecutive victories in school matches, Miss Buckley lost only one set—in the 1970 state finals. In doubles she is ranked sixth in the U.S.
