Bobby Crawford, 17, a junior halfback for Northside High in Vernon, Texas, rushed for 247 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in his team's 86-0 romp over rival Estelline High. The previous week he had scored seven touchdowns against Patton Springs High.

Greg Pusey, 19, first baseman for the Helena ( Mont.) American Legion baseball team, may have answered the question of who is the next Joe DiMaggio. Pusey finished the season with a 47-game hitting streak, hit safely in 54 of 55 games and batted .375.

Dr. George Joyner, 65, of Asheboro, N.C, had a golf season to remember, making a hole in one in Spain this spring and another at his Pinewood Country Club this summer. It was there in two other rounds that he shot a 64 and a record-equaling 62 the next day.

Tom Palmer, 83, a lawyer from Kansas City, Kans., won both the Missouri State Shoot and the Veterans' Race Handicap for trapshooters over 65, scoring 188 of 200 and 96 of 100. In 68 years of shooting he has broken 50,000 targets and does not yet wear glasses.
