Steve Allen and Ed Bundy brought both high school age-group championships home to Cheyenne (Wyo.) Central High School from the National Junior Olympic Cross-Country meet in Nashville, Tenn. Allen, a senior and three-time state cross-country champion, won the 16-17 age division in a U.S. record time of 14:21 over three miles. Bundy, a junior, captured the 14-15 age title and himself set a national record of 9:28 for the two-mile event. He also placed second in the mile and two-mile in the National Boys' track championships.

Allen, a senior and three-time state cross-country champion, won the 16-17 age division in a U.S. record time of 14:21 over three miles. Bundy, a junior, captured the 14-15 age title and himself set a national record of 9:28 for the two-mile event. He also placed second in the mile and two-mile in the National Boys' track championships.

Jerry Brown, a 5'8" junior flanker at Anniston ( Ala.) High, caught 10 passes, all for touchdowns, as the Bulldogs finished 9-0. In a post-season charity game, he caught six passes for 90 yards and two TDs as Anniston won 19-6 over Oxford High. Brown averaged 35.8 yards.

Lynn Bjorklund, 16, of Los Alamos, N. Mex., won the girls' division of the National AAU Cross-Country Championships in Albuquerque on her first try. Bjorklund covered the 2�-mile distance in 14:38, defeating world-ranked Mary Decker by 50 yards.

Kay Williams, a senior center forward at Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News, Va., scored 21 goals in 15 games this season as her field hockey team finished with a 12-2-1 record. In three years on the varsity, two as a left inner, she has scored 55 goals.

Joe Evanko, 72, of Collinsville, Ill., rolled his second 700 series in less than a year with games of 234, 269 and 235 in 6:45 Men's Handicap League. The 738 total was a personal best in 50 years of play for Evanko, a retired meatcutter, who holds an average of 194.
