David Kurrasch, a 210-pound sophomore at Santa Ana ( Calif.) High School, in his second year of shotput competition put the 16-pound shot 51'2�" and the 12-pound shot 61'1" to register national age-group records for 15-year-olds in both events.

Cindy Wacker, a senior at The Dalles (Ore.) High School, won all four events and the all-round championship in the state gymnastics meet. She was awarded the honor of "Elite Gymnast" and thus qualified to try out for the 1974 World Games.

Ron Marriot, 13, of Rockford, Ill., won two of the first three trials to become the youngest male ever to qualify for the U.S. trampoline team and will enter the world championship to be staged later this year in South Africa. Ron has been competing for four years.

Jay Waters, a freshman goalie for the Lake Forest (Ill.) College hockey team, stopped 55 of 58 shots in the Foresters' clash with Ohio State. Rallying from three first-period goals, he then made 41 consecutive saves against the Buckeyes—who still won 3-2.

Herbert McIver, a center at Richmond Tech in Hamlet, N.C., has averaged 38 points and 18 rebounds in leading the Raiders to an 18-2 championship record. Piedmont Conference MVP for the last two seasons, McIver has a high game of 54 points.

John Steele, a senior wrestler at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, won his first 15 matches this season, beating each opponent by a pin. Runner-up for the Ohio 126-pound title last year, he also has won two invitational tournaments at that weight this season.
