PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WIS.
An 18-year-old senior, Ann won both the mile (5:03.6) and 880 (2:17.6) to lead the Prairie du Chien High girls team to its second straight Class B state title and helped the Blackhawks win their first state cross-country championship.

WESTMINSTER, MD.
The first wrestler ever to win state championships in three straight years, 18-year-old Steve, a recent graduate of Westminster High, had a three-year varsity record of 72-3-1 competing for the Owls in the 138-, 145- and 155-pound classes.

ARCADIA, CALIF.
At the Explorer Olympics in Fort Collins, Colo., sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, Patterson, 20, won the 100-yard freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and 200-yard IM, setting records in four of the five events.

LYNBROOK, N.Y.
A two-time Masters All-America for the Metro Masters Swim Club who holds a total of 10 age-group records at distances from 50 to 400 yards, Mrs. Costello, 53, took five firsts at the East Coast Long Course championships in Philadelphia.

DEBRA MELROSE
AUSTIN, TEXAS
The outstanding woman competing in the Explorer Olympics in Fort Collins, 17-year-old Debra collected five gold medals and broke records in each of her events: the 80-yard low hurdles, the 100-, 220- and 440-yard dashes and the long jump.
