LANSING, MICH.
A 6'8�" center, Earvin averaged 28.8 points per game and led Everett High to a 27-1 record and the Class A state basketball title. He also captained the U.S. high school team that won a recent all-star tournament in West Germany

NORMAL, ILL.
LaCost, a junior at Illinois State, won the all-events title at the women's national intercollegiate bowling championships in Milwaukee with a nine-game 1,681. She and LuAnn Calsetta of New York's SUNY- Farmingdale won the doubles.

KEITH ATHERTON
MATHEWS, VA.
Keith, a 6'3" junior righthander, pitched four consecutive no-hitters for the Mathews High Blue Devils, including a perfect game against New Kent. Keith's record is 8-1 and he has allowed only three runs in 67 innings, for an ERA of .10.

JOHN NONEMAKER
FORT WAYNE, IND.
John, an 18-year-old catcher for Bishop Dwenger High, slugged two grand slams in the first inning of a game with Adams Central High. John also hit a single in the four-hour, 10-inning battle that ended in a 22-22 tie.

MIKE SCHIAVONE
ALLENTOWN, PA.
Mike, 12, set records in 66 of the 108 races he swam this season for the Allentown YMCA and South Mountain Junior High. Undefeated in all strokes, Mike is 12-and-under state champ in the 50-yard butterfly and 50-yard backstroke.

TERRY MUSIAL
LAKEWOOD, OHIO
A gymnast at Lakewood High, Terry, 16 (no kin to Stan), won the all-round title at the state championships in Dublin, scoring 69.9 of a possible 80 points. He won the all-round in all eight regular-season meets, the state sectionals and districts.
