Erin, 11, a sixth grader at Whiteford Elementary School, swimming for the Greater Toledo Aquatic Club, won five of the seven individual events she entered in the Ohio AAU long-course swimming championships in Cincinnati.
Swimming for the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (translation: fish with the grunt of a pig) team, Mrs. Bennett, 69, won four individual age-group (65-and-over) bronze medals and two relay gold medals at the AAU Masters national championships in Spokane, Wash. Her son Richard, 46, who swam for Stanford and now directs its fund-raising division, won the 200-meter backstroke in the 45-to-49 age group for the Rinconada Masters Swim Club of Palo Alto, Calif.
A senior tailback at Galax High, Chris, 17, rushed for 360 yards and four TDs in 30 carries in a 40-6 victory over Floyd County. In eight games Brown has run for 1,772 yards and leads the state in scoring with 134 points.
At the AAU Junior Olympic meet in Bloomington, Jodie, 10, a fifth grader at Austin Elementary, set state age-group records in the 100-yard dash (12.7), the long jump (14'�") and was a member of the record-setting 440 relay team.
A junior at Lehigh, Lieberman, 21, the national AAU 180.5-pound freestyle wrestling champion, won a gold medal in Pan-American competition at Mexico City, pinning all three of his opponents, the first in 23 seconds.
