What was your welcome-to-the-big-leagues moment?
When I made the Giants out of spring training in 2000 [he was first called up in 1999] and a bunch of guys said things like, "Good to see you up here for the beginning."

What was your most embarrassing moment?
Showing up late for the plane in 1999. I woke up late and missed the team bus. I had catch a cab to the airport just to make the flight. Everybody was already on the plane, and I got a big ovation.

Favorite off-day activity?
It used to be golf, but now it's spending time with my 8-month-old son, Cole.

One thing about being a baseball player the public doesn't think about?
How tight a lot of the guys are. Sometimes we're closer with each other than we are with some of our family members.

If I weren't playing baseball, I'd be ... in sports somehow. I would try to find something in sports management.

Last Week
Nathan, 30, picked up his AL-leading 28th save in a 7-3 win over the Yankees.

This Week
The Twins host the Red Sox, against whom Nathan had four saves without allowing an earned run last season.
