Jerseys bearing Jackie Robinson's number were ready and waiting for all the
Dodgers to wear in their game against the Padres on Sunday, the 60th
anniversary of the day the Brooklyn Dodgers second baseman (inset) integrated
the major leagues. Entire teams and individual players throughout the big
leagues switched numbers in honor of the late Hall of Famer.
Duke attackman Max Quinzani went horizontal for a shot against Virginia during
the Blue Devils' 7--6 win in Durham, N.C., last Saturday. The victory upped
Duke's record to 10--2 under first-year coach John Danowski (inset, far left).
Meanwhile, former coach Mike Pressler (inset, left), forced to resign last
season after a woman falsely accused Duke players of sexual assault, led his
new team, Bryant College, to a 27--8 win over Franklin Pierce (LIFE OF REILLY,

Goalie Rick DiPietro and defenseman Chris Campoli celebrated the Islanders'
3--2 victory over the top-seeded Sabres last Saturday, tying their first-round
Stanley Cup playoff series at one game apiece. It was DiPietro's first game in
net since being sidelined with a concussion on March 25.
