Kristina Jenkins EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. > Bowling Jenkins, who finished her second year at Hudson Valley Community College, won the Betty Jo Graber female student-athlete of the year award, given to the top junior college athlete. She was the 2007 women's individual all-events champion, knocking down 2,216 pins for a 184.7 average.

Wyatt, of Mounds View High, is the first eighth-grade boy in the 79-year history of Minnesota's state tournament to win the high school singles title. He defeated the state champ, Buffalo High junior Michael Sicora, in the semifinal, then beat Blaine junior Paul Swanson to win gold in Class 2A.

FLOWER MOUND, TEXAS > SOCCER
Angulo, a graduate of Marcus High, was the Class 5A championship MVP after assisting on both regulation goals in the Marauders' 3--2 win over Plano West. He scored 13 goals and had 10 assists in leading his school to a 30-0-0 record and the No. 1 national ranking.

Tamra Griffin
VIRGINIA BEACH > SOFTBALL
Griffin, a graduate of Kellam High, was a first-team all-state catcher and delivered the game-winning hits in both the Eastern Region and the Group AAA championship games. In the AAA final her clutch single led the Knights to a 1--0 victory and their first state title. She will play at Morgan State next year.

John Mann
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. > Water Polo
Mann, a graduate of Berkeley, won the Peter J. Cutino Award as the country's best male collegiate water polo player. A three-time first-team All-America and a member of the U.S. national team, the utility player scored 80 goals to lead the Bears to their NCAA-record 12th national championship.

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. > Track and Field
Carrier, a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High, is the highest-scoring female ever at the West Virginia state meet, with 148 points. This spring, for the second straight year, she won gold in four events: the 100-meter hurdles, the 300 hurdles, the 200 meters and the long jump, in a state record of 18' 8 1/2".
