Water Tight
A field of 1,731 crowded the surf off Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, last Saturday at the start of the Ironman World Championship triathlon. The winner, representing Australia, was Chris McCormack (inset), with a combined time of 8:15:34.

Fogg and Rain
The Rockies' Josh Fogg squared to bunt against Livan Hernandez in the drizzle that fell throughout Game 3 of the NLCS on Sunday night in Denver. In the sixth inning catcher Yorvit Torrealba (inset) hit a three-run homer to seal Colorado's 4--1 win over the Diamondbacks and give the Rockies a 3--0 series lead (page 50).
