THE WOMAN who came in first in Sunday's New York Marathon, Paula Radcliffe, got $170,000. The woman who came in 34,193rd got a kiss from Tom Cruise. O.K., so it was Katie Holmes (below). Cruise laid one on his wife near the finish line, just before she finished in a respectable 5:29:58. (Afterward Holmes told People, "I'm good, but I'm feeling very tired.") Among those who outran Holmes were former Rangers goalie Mike Richter (3:54:34), five-time Olympic speedskating medalist Johann Olav Koss (3:24:44) and Lance Armstrong (2:46:43).... Unlike Holmes, Armstrong went without a buss at the race's end. Ashley Olsen, 21, who was seen with the 36-year-old Armstrong a few days earlier at New York City's Gramercy Hotel Rose Bar, wasn't seen on race day.... No one ever confused Tropicana Field with the Field of Dreams—the Devil Rays are 364--444 alltime at home. Nevertheless, Kevin Costner and his band, Modern West, will play a free gig outside the dome on Thursday when the team unveils a new name (reportedly the Rays) and uniform color (believed to be navy blue). Former Tampa players Wade Boggs and Fred McGriff will don the new duds as part of a fashion show.
