Alexa, a third-grader at Quail Run Elementary, won the 200 meters and the long jump and set a national age-group (girls' primary) record in the 400 meters at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. She is the daughter of Derrick Thomas, the Kansas City Chiefs star who died of a pulmonary embolism in 2000.

KNOXVILLE, TENN. > Waterskiing

Curmi, a senior at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, won the Men 1 tricks competition at the 2004 Goode Water Ski National Championships in West Palm Beach, Fla. He finished second in tricks at the World University Water Ski Championships in Balakovo, Russia.

NEW YORK CITY > Rifle

Sisters Abigail (far left) and Sandra, a junior and a freshman, respectively, at Hunter College High, won a total of four gold and two silver individual medals plus two team golds in scholastic rifle at the Empire State Games.
