NBA scouts evaluate the potential of Mississippi State All-America forwardLawrence Roberts,a 6'9", 240-pound senior who was averaging 18.9 points and 11.5 rebounds at week's end:
"Right now, he's in a little bit of a no man's land. Number 1, he's not really 6'9". Number 2, he's got relatively short arms. And number 3, he doesn't have a good lift. He's a good athlete, but not off the charts.... Can he be David West? In most cases, if you can rebound in college, you're going to be a good rebounder in the NBA.... I like the kid because he competes, he's a good guy and he did the right thing by going back to college.... Could his play in late February and early March get him into the first round? Without a doubt. But in reality I think he's probably an early second-round pick."
