The Flight Stuff
Donning a Superman cape and jersey before the third of his four attempts at the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Magic center Dwight Howard took a pass from teammate Jameer Nelson and took off just inside the free throw line to earn perfect 10s from the five judges in New Orleans last Saturday. The 6'11" Howard became the tallest winner (inset) in the event's 24-year history (page 56).

Numero Uno
For a century the beagle has been listed among the most popular breeds in the U.S., but it wasn't until Feb. 12 that one of its kind—two-year-old Uno—won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Among the 169 breeds that were shown over two days at Madison Square Garden were the 16 on the opposite page.
