SATURDAY 3/4

No. 21 North Carolina at No. 1 Duke
He's Robin to J.J. Redick's Batman, but Duke's Shelden Williams isn't playing like a sidekick. The senior forward (above) leads the ACC in rebounding (10.1 per game) and with Redick (page 62) forms the nation's best inside-out tandem. Williams can fill it up, too: His 18.8 points per game is third in the ACC. ESPN 9 p.m.

American Cup
The world's top gymnasts vault into Philadelphia. Among the favorites: Oklahoma's Jonathan Horton (right), who finished second in the all-around competition at the Winter Cup last month. The American Cup marks the major-event U.S. debut of a new scoring system. Superb performances can now be given marks above 10.0. NBC 1 p.m.

Jeff Lacy vs. Joe Calzaghe No wonder undefeated super middleweight Lacy (below) has been compared with Mike Tyson: He's compact (5'9"), and loves quick knockouts (14 of his 22 bouts have ended before the fourth round). Don't expect Calzaghe (40-0) to be intimidated. He has held the WBO super middleweight belt since 1997. Showtime 9 p.m.

MONDAY 3/6

Pros vs. Joes
Want to box out Dennis Rodman or run routes with Jerry Rice? Fantasy becomes reality in this series, as couch potatoes compete against famous athletes. The pros include ex-Braves reliever John Rocker, who will buzz fastballs past nine New Yorkers in Manhattan's Bryant Park. Spike TV 10 p.m.

TUESDAY 3/7

World Baseball Classic

Mexico versus USA
Just as George Steinbrenner suspected: The Yankees truly are America's team. Well, almost. Three ( Johnny Damon, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez) will suit up for Team USA (page 56). And former Bronx Bomber Roger Clemens will front a rotation that won 63 games last season. Padres righthander Jake Peavy (right) gets the start in the U.S. opener. ESPN2 4 p.m.
